Mikk Putk has worked in the field of intellectual property since 2002. In 2006 he became Estonian Patent Attorney. He started his own patent & and IP practice in Estonia in 2008. In 2009 he and Margus Sarap merged their companies and established Sarap & Putk Patent Agency. He joined METIDA in 2015. In 2019 he joined Finnish patent agency Moosedog.
In 2010 he founded crowdsourcing platform for technology and patent research – CrowdIPR Ltd and after leaving CrowdIPR in 2012 he founded ipInstruments OÜ, which develops IP audit and risk evaluation tool.
During his career Mikk Putk gained experience as a mentor at startup programs and accelerators, lecturer at IP seminars & conferences and visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Tartu University. He has conducted over 8000 hours patent, trademark & design searches and participated in patent & other IP training programs in Finland, Norway, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, UK. He is also an active member of the Association of the Estonian Patent Attorneys and Student member of European Patent Institute (EPI).
