Changes in the System of Antimonopoly Bodies of the Republic of Belarus
On 8 September 2016 the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 188 of 3 June 2016 On the Bodies of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade has entered into force in Belarus thus putting into operation the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
Following the Decree, this Ministry was entrusted to function as a single antimonopoly body. The structure of the Ministry embraced the territorial agencies for antimonopoly and pricing policies, as well as the Pricing Policy Department previously subordinated to the Ministry of Economy.
As a result of the said changes in the structure of public administration, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade obtained control over cases on finding facts of unfair competition in the actions of economic entities related to the registration of trademarks, and other issues of control over the compliance with legislation on counteraction to monopolistic activities and development of competition.
